Dear Reader,

You can’t tell, due to my annoying penchant (affectation?) for photographing in monotone (all us realist photographers insist on using the black and white setting on our point-and-shoot digital cameras), but the message you can see here is written…

IN BLOOD!

Can’t you just imagine the tale behind this scene: the unfortunate, shambling entity getting from its digs all the way to the doorway on urgent business, finding the person they wish to communicate with not at home, and then – quelle horreur – they discover they haven’t a pencil upon their person with which to leave a note.

No matter, they decide, i’ll just slash my wrist and jot a quick missive here on the wall with some of my body contents.

And it’s pretty important, this message, so i’d better really underline it, so it stands out. You know, amongst all the other messages scrawled in blood.

Of course, it is possible that this is just red paint, but i like to think that it’s blood. It’s more gritty that way. More social realist. More photo essay.
