When the girls were running around Knox City last week, batting their eyelids and lowering their necklines at young male shop assistants in an effort to obtain the best possible price on the new TV Robot they were after, one hot topic they used to get said shop assistants on side was for them to show a panty-wettening interest in the forthcoming Guitar Hero World Tour.

The only thing a young male working in a consumer electronics store likes better than a pretty girl with batting eyelids and bulging neckline is a pretty girl with batting eyelids and bulging neckline who wants to talk to him about Guitar Hero.

It would seem.

The young male shop assistant at JB HiFi, for example, confided in them that the store would be getting in “about a thousand” units of World Tour.

These things cost around $250 each, so that’s about a quarter mill sitting right there, in that one store.

Mind you, there’s the fact that it’s available on at least four different consoles (PS2; PS3; Wii; Xbox) if you don’t count the ridiculous DS ports of the franchise, so that will complicate things a bit in terms of coverage, but we calculated that about one in ten households in Knox will have a copy of World Tour by Boxing Day.

And it looks like we’re going to be one of them.

Sybylla dragged us out to the shops last night to make sure we got one of the thousand+ copies floating around Knox City.

*Pfft* Easy! we figured.

Um, easy if you want it for PS3, Wii, or Xbox. Not so easy if you want it for PS2.

Last xmas, Guitar Hero sold out across the planet. It was in the news that some guy was offering a thousand dollars for one, if only some parent out there was ready to bitterly disappoint their child on xmas morn in return for luchre.

World Tour came out on Thursday (the night of that big thunderstorm), and it was sold out in PS2 format in most places by Friday night.

It took some walking, but we found one. So Sybylla is now sitting in the Big Chair watching the Saturday morning video hits shows, trying to come up with a name for her band.

World Tour, from what i understand, lets three ppl play: guitar; drum; vocals.

I’m hoping there’s a bass option, but i don’t know that there is. I might end up on drums.

I could research it, i guess, but i’ve decided to wait until xmas to find out.

If you’ve got any snappy ideas for a name for Sybylla’s band, feel free to suggest. So far she is going the Indie path, and choosing nouns at random which she then puts the word “The” in front of. The list so far:

• The Nautiloids
• The Eggflips
• The Pills

So, as you can see, she needs help.
