Dear Reader,
I was down in Frankston – which is, like, the Bogan Homeworld – running an errand for Princess this arvo, and i couldn’t help but notice the gay carnival atmosphere that was forming in anticipation of tomorrow(my time)’s Cadbury Festival of Lights.
Oh, yes. Even a place as classy as Frankston has its hokey festivals.
This one is to celebrate the Feast of Saturnalia Christmas, and it involves some pretty lights, some fireworks, and some M-Grade TV celebrity called “Mike Larkan“, who is apparently in charge of making the weather at Channel 10 (the Bogan Home Channel).
The Festival of Lights is in its eleventh HUGE year, and last year it won Runner Up in the inaugural (soon to be prestigious) BT Publishing group’s Event of the Year contest. Narrowly (?) beaten for Festival of the Year by Skandia Geelong Week, the Cadbury Festival of Lights is this year hoping that it can find an even more obscure internet festival competition to win, just by ringing up dial-a-ride and stringing some fairy lights around a Norfolk Pine.
Good luck, Frankston.
Perhaps your weather “personality” Mike Larkin will be able to do something about the thunderstorms that are supposed to be lashing the bayside coast around about the time the festival starts.
If not, you can always just pretend the thunder and lightning is the fireworks, and sell the real fireworks to the plat-rat kids hanging around the railway station.
So, brightside.
Yours,
Gullybogan
PS Pls note that on account of how there’s going to be either fireworks or thunder and lightning, pets are strictly forbidden from celebrating Christmas.
