CHARTER
In “Citizen Kane”, the first thing Kane and his buddy did when starting their newspaper was to agree on a charter, to make sure that they always kept the spirit of what they were doing, even as it evolved around them.
Not a bad idea. Even though this isn’t a newspaper. Or evolving.
So here’s my charter.
- If I can’t say something nice about someone, then I won’t say anything about them at all, unless they’re a celebrity.
- I must never write about things that happen in a way that i wouldn’t be happy to read out loud to the ppl involved.
- I must make sure to play nicely with others at all times.
There. I’m sure that will stand me in good stead.
